Lebgenco SAL, the family business behind Orchards of Laila, describes a cultivation heritage spanning around 300 years. That continuity matters because olive oil is agricultural: its character begins before pressing, in the varieties planted, the condition of the fruit and the judgement applied through the growing year.

The range gives particular attention to Lebanese cultivars. Souri—also written Souriana—sits alongside Ayrouni and Abu Chawkeh in the producer’s collection. Naming those varieties makes provenance tangible. It moves the conversation beyond a generic idea of Mediterranean oil and towards the agricultural identity of Lebanon itself.

El Chouf is a landscape of mountain villages and long agricultural memory. The brand’s imagery places the bottle back among bark, leaves and working groves. It is a simple but important connection: the finished object belongs to a living landscape and to the people maintaining it.

Orchards of Laila combines inherited producer knowledge with contemporary quality practice. Its team includes professional olive-oil sommeliers and master blenders associated with O.N.A.O.O., the Italian national organisation of olive-oil tasters. International competitions provide independently identifiable reference points. The Family Reserve received Gold at the 2020 NYIOOC, while the organic extra virgin olive oil received the Gold Organic Award at the 2023 Japan Olive Oil Prize. More recent recognition includes a 2025 Gold Quality Medal at the Olio Nuovo Days Awards for the Souri extra virgin olive oil. Each claim is tied to a named product, competition and year.
